Lorene (a.k.a. CanvasDancer) has a B.F.A. in Drawing/Painting, a B.S. in Art Education from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and a two year diploma in Commercial Art from M-State, Moorhead. Lorene’s artistic career spans across several platforms, including commercial art and graphics, K-12 arts education, has been an arts organizer with several Minnesota arts organizations, art tutoring and mentoring students privately while actively pursuing a studio career in drawing and painting, primarily working with the human figure and in the fiber arts of spinning and weaving. Lorene resides at the Kaddatz Artist Lofts, Fergus Falls, MN.

Before moving to Saint Paul Lorene enjoyed her years of teaching as a K-12 Art Specialist at the Indus School on the beautiful Rainy River border between Minnesota and Ontario. She was on the Board of Directors of the Lake Region Arts Council and also mentored through the Artist Mentor program there. “The students and I are both growing and gaining much from it – we should never stop learning.” “Working with grant opportunities for artists was extremely gratifying to me.”

As an arts consumer, Lorene enjoys visiting galleries and museums, performances, and volunteers in various art venues. Moving to Saint Paul has been a diverse, exciting and stimulating experience.
